Ragdoll

Personality

The ragdoll breed has become very popular in recent years, mostly due to the especially docile character these cats have. They’re also very affectionate, perhaps more so than other types of cats, and tend to be very attached to their owners and their families, making them the ideal cat for many people. Ragdolls don’t usually like going outside too much.

They have the name “ragdoll” because of a unique quirk they have: when someone holds them in their arms, the cats’ muscles relax so much that their bodies go completely limp and floppy.

Physical Characteristics

Ragdolls have semi-long hair and a colour pattern known as “colourpoint”, with a dark colour scheme (usually a chocolate brown hue) on the tail, face, ears and limbs, and with the rest of the body having a lighter colour, ranging from cream to white. It’s also standard for the breed to have a white patch on the face in the form of an inverted “V”, but it’s also common to see other patterns such as “mitted”, “bicolour” or “high white”, depending on the proportion of white on the coat, which is genetically determined.
