Maine Coon, the perfect

Character

Many cat lovers consider this breed to be perfect thanks to its excellent score in all respects – behaviour, nobility, maintenance, adaptability, sociability, resilience and beauty

The Maine Coon would be the feline equivalent of a big German Shepherd. In fact, it is also known as the “puppy cat” amongst feline enthusiasts because Maine Coons tend to follow their owners around the house, without becoming as dependent as Siamese cats.

Thanks to their lovable personality, they also adapt well to living with other animals, particularly dogs.

Appearance

They are magnificent animals with a wild appearance, powerful yet not threatening. Their weight varies between 5 and 8 kg, and some males could exceed 10 kg. They boast a very solid bone structure as well as  large muscles.

The maintenance of a Maine Coon requires careful brushing on a daily basis due to their long fur. They also need a diet rich in high-quality proteins, combining both wet and dry food, in order to maintain their athletic bodies and keep up with the energy spent when they exercise.
